To apply for this programme, an applicant must have:
• An NQF Level 5 qualification (Higher Certificate).

• Completed application form.
• Certified copy of South African Identity Document (South African citizens only) / official passport (foreign students).
• Certified copy of highest qualification certificate and any other certification required as proof of meeting minimum entry requirements for this programme.
• SAQA and USAF verification as it is required for verification of recognition of foreign qualifications.
The following supporting documentation must be included if you are applying for CAT:
• Certified academic transcript(s) of training from a previous educational institution or FPD at the same NQF Level.
• Study guide that supports the credit claim at the same NQF Level.
The following supporting documentation must be included if you are applying for RPL:
• Testimonials/reference letters from previous or current employers.
• Portfolio of Evidence of your work experience and skills equivalent to an NQF Level.
• Full curriculum vitae indicating employment history and work experience in relevant field.

This programme will run over 18 months and is split into modules that are eight weeks long. This includes seven weeks of study and a one-week break.

This module will enable you to understand the importance of an effective monitoring and evaluation system in the larger project and programme cycle. Effective evaluation measures how, and to what extent, a programme or project was successful in reaching its goals. This module will focus on understanding the key terminology of monitoring and evaluation and applying results-based management principles. You will learn how to develop a theory of change, a logical framework and a monitoring framework.

In this module, students learn to design effective monitoring frameworks for programmes. Key skills include interpreting components for monitoring framework development and developing and explaining the implementation of these frameworks.

This module will enable you to identify the key aspects to be monitored in an intervention. A well-designed M&E system describes in detail all the processes of collecting data, the tools to be used as well as allocating responsibilities to the different tasks. This module will ensure that individuals have the skills and competencies to identify and develop the key monitoring components of an intervention.

This module addresses the principles of data quality management within monitoring. Students learn to summarise data quality principles, identify risks to data quality, prepare for routine data quality assessments, and interpret ethical aspects of monitoring data.

In this module, students will learn to analyse and report monitoring data effectively. Key components include explaining data analysis, identifying methods for data analysis, illustrating data flow, ordering data reporting, and interpreting data for decision-making.

This module will enable you to plan and manage an evaluation for a project or programme. Evaluation is the assessment of the actual change, or even, long-term impact that a project has, compared to what was intended. You will learn how to interpret and use evaluation results.

This module is about preparing and managing the process of evaluation. It covers determining whether an intervention is ready for evaluation, developing the evaluation scope and questions, preparing terms of reference, managing an evaluation team, practising ethical principles, and selecting appropriate evaluation methodology.

This module deals with effectively reporting and applying evaluation findings. Students learn to report on evaluation findings, apply findings and recommendations, and utilise evaluation results in practical contexts.
